The reason is that these are people who have expressed interest in you and your offerings already, or who have bought from you. Therefore, the content should be more targeted based on how they got on the list, and more valuable since you know who you’re creating it for and why.

Building your email list can be overwhelming and tricky; that’s why you need help from relevant and reliable tools. Sure, you can try to grow your list manually, but it takes time and intense effort. And it is something we’ve all done in the beginning. Maybe. Nowadays, if you want to do it quicker and more efficient, you’ll use some of the ideas tools we talk about in this article. Furthermore, you’ll pair them with some of the tactics we offer at the end of the post. So, let’s dive in.
For example, we found a few obscenely high-traffic posts on the Todaymade blog, and created a pop-up that encouraged people to sign up for an ebook that was related to the topic of the post. These were posts that had high bounce rates, meaning people came in, read what they wanted, and left. We figured we might as well offer them related content, since they were going to leave anyway. They’re already primed for the topic. Nuthin’ to lose.
People like more choices, so consider creating subscription levels that let people sign up to receive content that’s relevant to them. For example, if you sell widgets and tax advice, provide three options on your opt-in form that allow users to sign up to receive info about widgets, info about tax advice or both. Further customize by allowing them to designate how frequently they’d like to hear from you — weekly, monthly or only when something really special is going on. People may be more likely to sign up for your email list if they have some control over the content they’ll receive.
Longer email course. We have noticed in our own email autoresponder courses that people do unsubscribe more as the course continues, but that does not mean you should not have an autoresponder that runs a longer time. It will take some readers longer to commit to you, your content, and ultimately, anything you are selling. A longer email autoresponder fits their needs perfectly. A longer email course is a good place to feature a set number of blog posts on a topic that you have written many blog posts on.
